1. What do you do in your free time?

Các bạn hãy sử dụng các từ vựng gợi ý để trả lời các câu hỏi dưới đây trước nhé!

Từ vựng gợi ý: 

spare time: thời gian rảnh 

hit the gym: đi tập gym 

stay fit: giữ dáng

get stronger: trở nên khỏe mạnh hơn 

day by day: ngày qua ngày

I often hit the gym in my spare time. I’m currently doing lots of exercise. It helps me stay fit, and I’m getting stronger day by day. 

2. Do you like to spend your free time with families or friends?

Từ vựng gợi ý: 

prefer spending time: thích dành thời gian hơn (so sánh giữa 2 đối tượng, 2 việc)

close friends: bạn thân

in the same class: cùng lớp 

share everything: chia sẻ mọi thứ 

deepest secrets: bí mật sâu kín nhất

I would say I prefer spending time with my close friends. We have known each other since high school and have been studying in the same class ever since. We share everything, even our deepest secrets. 

3. How did you spend your free time when you were a child?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

shy: rụt rè

leisure time: thời gian rảnh 

friends hang out: bạn bè đi chơi  

outdoor activities: hoạt động ngoài trời

indoors: ở trong nhà

cartoons: phim hoạt hình 

When I was a child, I was quite shy so I spent most of my leisure time at home. While my friends were hanging out doing some outdoor activities, I often stayed indoors watching my favorite cartoons.

1. What do you think is the importance of leisure time in life?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

plays an important role: đóng vai trò quan trọng

stressful: căng thẳng

blow off steam: thư giãn, xả xì-trét 

regain energy: lấy lại năng lượng

stay focused: tập trung 

efficiently: hiệu quả 

Leisure time plays an important role in people’s lives. After hours of stressful study and work, they need some time to blow off steam. Only then can they regain energy and stay focused to work more efficiently. 

2. Do you think modern lifestyles give people enough time for leisure?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

get busier and busier: ngày càng bận rộn hơn

work for weeks or months: làm việc hàng tuần hoặc tháng

a day off: ngày nghỉ 

better living standard: mức sống tốt hơn

this way of living: lối sống này

do harm to sth: gây hại đến cái gì

As people are getting busier and busier these days, they don’t have enough time for pastimes. Some people have been working for weeks or months without a day off because they want to make more money for a better living standard. In my opinion, this way of living is doing harm to people’s health.

Chúng ta có thể dùng thì tiếp diễn một cách đa dạng trong các câu trả lời Speaking: 

Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn:

  • I’m currently doing lots of exercise.
  • I’m getting stronger day by day.

Thì hiện tại hoàn thành tiếp diễn:

  • We have been studying in the same class (ever) since (*)
  • Some people have been working for weeks or months. 

Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn: 

  • While my friends were hanging out joining some outdoor activities, I often stayed indoors watching my favorite cartoons. 

(*) Thường “since” sẽ đi kèm một thời gian cụ thể như “since last month/last year”, nhưng trong câu:

We have known each other since high school and have been studying in the same class.

Phần “we have have known each other since high school” ở câu trước đã là mốc thời gian cụ thể nên trong trường hợp này chúng ta không cần lặp lại thông tin nữa.
