1. Các cấu trúc diễn tả sự tương đương

| A amounts to B | She said “No”, which amounted to a complete refusal. Nghĩa: Cô ấy nói “không”, điều đó tương đương với một lời từ chối hoàn toàn. |
| A is comparable to B | The price of this house is comparable to that of some other houses that are on the outskirts of the city. Nghĩa: Giá của căn nhà này tương đương với giá một số căn nhà khác ở ngoại ô thành phố. |
| A is equivalent to B | Eight kilometres is roughly equivalent to five miles Nghĩa: 8 km xấp xỉ bằng 5 dặm |
